A Kid and His Dad,
Zero Bullsh*tπ
Fed up with dodgy fees and power-tripping admins.
So we built something that actually makes sense.
Hey, I'm Benni π
I've always been that kid looking for ways to make money. Side hustles, small gigs, you name it β if there was a dollar to be earned, I was there. But this story? It started from watching my dad.
My dad needed some work done around the house. Easy, right? He posted a job on one of those big apps, and within an hour, three tradies had already quoted on it. Sweet! Problem solved... or so we thought.
π³ "To view this quote and message this provider, please purchase credits."
β The app, after someone ALREADY offered to do the job
Wait, what? Sure, the money gets held until the job's done β we get that part. But what if dad just wanted to chat first?Ask a few questions? Make sure the bloke wasn't dodgy? Nope β pay up or stay silent. What if they turn out to be a nightmare? Too late, you've already committed cash.
π€ "I just want to ask if he's available next Tuesday. Maybe see some photos of his previous work. Have a quick yarn. Why do I need to commit money before I even know if we vibe?"
β Dad, making an excellent point
Then there was the time my dad tried to post his own services. Spent ages writing up a good description, hit submit, and...
π« "Your post has been declined. Advertising posts are only allowed on Tuesdays between 2pm and 4pm during a full moon while Mercury is in retrograde."
β Every Facebook group admin, apparently
Or he'd post on a Thursday and some keyboard warrior named Kezza would comment "this is a DISCUSSION group, not a MARKETPLACE"even though she posts about her essential oils business every other day. Classic Kezza.
I watched all this play out β the ridiculous fees, the power-tripping admins, the apps designed to squeeze every last cent out of regular families just trying to get stuff done. And I thought: this is broken.
So I went to my dad β the one who knew how to code β and said:
π‘ "Dad, what if we built something where you don't have to pay just to reply to someone? Where tradies can actually get work without giving away a chunk of their pay? Something that just... makes sense?"
Dad looked at me like I'd just suggested we build a rocket to Mars. But after I explained it properly (and maybe bribed him with doing the dishes for a month π½οΈ), he was in. Late nights, weekends, way too many Red Bulls for him, way too much screen time for me β we built Benni In The Middle from scratch. A father-son project that turned into something real.
No paying to reply to quotes. No power-tripping admins. No ridiculous fees that make you question life choices. Just people connecting with people.
Now? We're helping other families skip all that nonsense. Post a job, get quotes, actually talk to people β all without some app shaking you down for "credits" like it's a dodgy arcade game. That's the whole vibe. β¨

What We Stand Forπͺ
These aren't just buzzwords on a wall. This is how we actually operate.
Families First
We were built by a family, for families. Not by a bunch of suits in a boardroom who think 'side hustle' is a new dance move.
Fair Fees, Always
We're not here to take a 20% cut so our CEO can buy another yacht. Our fees are transparent, fair, and won't make you cry into your smashed avo.
Speed Over Bureaucracy
No endless forms, no waiting weeks for approval, no 'please allow 3-5 business days'. We move fast because we know you've got bills to pay.
Real Support
When you message us, a human responds. Not a chatbot named 'Alex' who definitely isn't a real person. Wild concept in 2026, we know.
Built by Users
The best ideas come from you. We actually read feedback instead of sending it to a folder called 'Customer Complaints (Ignore)'.
Community Vibes
This isn't just an app β it's a community. No power-tripping admins, no 'your post has been declined', just good people helping good people.
Things We Absolutely Hateπ€
The stuff that made us build this platform in the first place.
No Vibe Check Allowed
Sure, the money's held until you're happy. But what if you just want to chat first? See if they're legit? Check their vibe before committing? Nope β pay up or stay silent.
Power-Tripping Admins
Your post was declined because it's Wednesday and Gary the admin is having a bad day. We feel your pain.
20% Service Fees
You do all the work, bring your own tools, deal with the customer... and they want a fifth of your pay? Absolutely not.
Posting Time Restrictions
'Advertising only on Tuesdays 2-4pm'. Cool, we'll just put our bills on hold until then. π
Hidden Contact Details
You can see someone wants to hire you, but their phone number costs $15 to unlock. Very normal, very cool.
Fake 'Urgent' Notifications
'5 people are viewing this job!' Yeah mate, and 4 of them are bots. We see through the manipulation tactics.
Us vs. The OthersβοΈ
No shade... okay, maybe a little shade.
